Mercedes Thompson takes a backseat in this next story. Patricia Briggs takes us back in time to when Bran and Sam were still human. Bran’s mother arrives and captures both Bran and Sam. Being under her spell is only part of the problem, losing their humanity is another. When A forest fey requests the witches assistance with his powers he makes a very costly mistake of insulting her in the process. The witches plans go up in smoke when the spell is broken and Sam finds out not all of his animal instincts are that of a wolf.
Mercedes Thompson ‘s life is turned upside-down when Christy, Adam’s ex-wife shoes up in town bringing trouble with her. Not only does she have a crazy stalker, but she is also trying to turn the pack against Mercy. When the stalker starts to target the pack they find out he isn’t quite human. It also appliers they haven’t been told the whole story. Christy makes very clear that she wants Adam back and when that doesn’t work she opens the floodgates.
After Mercedes Thompson and Jessie get into an accident on a Black Friday shopping trip she tries to call anyone in the pack and no one answers. Ben shows up drugged and telling them what happened at the pack house. It looks like government agents have kidnapped the whole pack. Mercy realizes they are running low on allies. After having saved Kyle they decide to call in the local police. When the local police don’t believe them they have to make calls to their lawyers in order to walk out. Even after Adam and the pack are free Mercy still has to go play Buffy the Vampire Slayer in order for all of them to be safe.
After Mercedes Thompson and Adam tie the knot they head out camping for their honeymoon. Unfortunately bodies start to disappear and the fey expect them to fix it. The situation becomes even more complicated when the culprit turns out to be an immortal that lives under water. Help comes in the form of demigods, including one from Mercy’s own past. In order to win this battle Mercy has to take attack position. Mercy may get to find out if all the bones in her body are broken, can she still stay alive?
Mercedes Thompson tries to return a book she borrowed from her friend when things start to look fishy. Whoever is trying to get the book back starts to target her and the pack. No one is prepared when Gabriel is kidnapped. They end up running into someone from Sam’s past in pursuit of information. It turns out the book is more than what it seems. What they didn’t count on was the kidnapper having their own fairyland and the chance of being trapped there forever. All that is left for them to do is play fairy games in hopes of getting out of there during this century.
When Mercedes Thompson’s old collage friend asks her to come help her with a ghost problem out of town and Mercy jumps at the chance. After the sexual assault nearly broke her the chance to solve someone else’s troubles may help get her mind off it. The haunting that Mercy is investigating turns dangerous when the local master vampire ends up at the dinner table. When the master lets in be known that he wants to own Mercy things start to go down hill. With the help of a few very odd characters Mercy may be able to make it threw this alive.
When Mercedes Thompson’s friend Zee calls her for a favor and Mercy takes a trip to the reservation with him to investigate a string of murdered fey. The fey plan to keep it to themselves until a human ends up dead and Zee is arrested for the murder. When no one sides with Zee to find the true culprit Mercy decides to continue the investigation herself. It turns out that artifact have gone missing and leads Mercy on an undercover mission. When a fey suspect follows her home he runs right into the pact. Even with the fey fighting her every step of the way Mercy is determined to get Zee out of jail.
When Mercedes Thompson’s friend calls her for a favor Mercy’s life is put in danger and Stefan’s honor is smudged. The local vampires call on Mercy to testify on Stefan’s behalf. While doing security patrols members of the pack start to disappear. Adams steps in to find them and soon goes missing as well. When the truth is revealed about who is behind the attacks Mercy uses her walker powers to find him. Not being a werewolf can serve as an advantage in order to save her pack members. With a friends magic, a vampire bond, and her hard headed determination to save her friends, Mercy goes head to head with the sorcerer.
When a young man steps into Mercedes Thompson garage looking for work it becomes quite apparent that he is not just human. When his arrival also brings trouble with him Mercy is forced to save him and has to call in the local Werewolf Alpha to clean up the dead before it gets worse. Additional blood on the ground is unavoidable when the pack house is attacked and Alpha Adam’s daughter is taken. In the process of trying to find his daughter his past comes back to haunt him and he ends up missing also. With the pack as back up and Mercy in her coyote form they head in to save the Alpha and his daughter.
Mercy Thompson the V.W. mechanic? She is a coyote in the world of werewolves, vampires and fairies. Though she has the support of all her friends she never knows who truly is friend or foe. Mercy is forever falling into crazy situations, and struggling to find a way out of it. This great series even has a spin-off of the Alpha and Omega.
